OBITUARY
Mr. Charles (C.B.) McKever was born April 10, 1938
in Tattnall County, Georgia and departed this life on
October 12, 1987 at home after a short illness. He joined
Green Cypress Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
He married Lorene Lockhart, October 24, 1959. To this
union three children were born. One preceeded him in
death.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Mrs. Lorene L. McKever,
two daughters, Miss Jacqueline Yvonne McKever and Miss
Patricia Ann McKever all of Claxton, Georgia; his mother,
Mrs. Leilia Allen McKever, Collins, Georgia: step-mother,
Mrs. Thelma Benjamin, Claxton, Georgia; eleven sisters,
Mrs. Martha Taylor and Mrs. Doris Lane, both of Augusta,
Georgia, Mrs. Maxie Cruise and Ms. Linda Benjamin,
Brooklyn, N. Y., Mrs. Mary Ann Freeman, Mrs. Betty
Warren and Miss Maxie Allen, Claxton, Georgia, Mrs.
Joann Polk, Baxley, Georgia, Mrs. Ruby Lee Sherry,
Collins, Georgia, and Mrs. Sarah Tolbert, Homerville,
Georgia, Mrs. Elvir Dixon, Collins, Georgia; seven
brothers, Mr. J. W. McKever, Claxton, Georgia, Mr.
Ronald Allen, Reidsville, Georgia, Mr. Ray Allen,
Hazlehurst, Georgia, Mr. James Benjamin, Mr. Bobby
Benjamin, Mr. Franklin Benjamin, and Mr. Lonnie
Benjamin, all of Chicago, III.; four grandchildren. Crystal
Alicia McKever, Palric Marcel McKever, Cory LaVeal
McKever, and Lamar Joseph Ponder; one great aunt, Mrs.
Christine M. Hunt and five aunts, Mrs. Maggie McKever,
Hagan, Georgia, Mrs. Juanita McKever, Mrs. Laura C.
McKever, Mrs. Viola McKever and Mrs. Tholia M.
Benjamin, all of Claxton, Georgia; one uncle, Mr. Jim
McKever, Hagan, Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Mrs.
Sabrina Moore, Mrs. Beulah Allen and Mrs. Razetta
McKever; four brothers-in-law, Mrs. Jessie L. Simmons,
Mr. Perlie Polk, Mr. J. T. Dixon, Mr. M. C. Sherry.
A precious one from us is gone. A voice we ioved is
still. A place is vacant in our home. The world can never
fill.
