OBITUARY
A precious one from us is gone, a voice we loved is still,
a place is vacant in our home, the world can never fill.
Ms. Geneva Lane was born April 9, 1900 and departed
this life Monday, August 18, 1986 at Mercer Hospital;
Toledo, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Dora Kirby of
Claxton, Georgia. She joined Thomas Grove A. M. E. Church
at an early age making her the mother of the church for a long
time. She served faithfully at Thomas Grove lasting greater
than fifty-one years. She served as a member of the trustee
board, missionary society, stewardess board and many other
organizations.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters; Mrs.
Madie Bacon; Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Ernestine Brewton; Thoms
River, New Jersey; one sister; Mrs. Ruthie Mae Young;
Oakland, California, one brother; Mr. Roscoe Kirby, New
York City, New York. Five great-great grandchildren;
thirty-five great grandchildren, nineteen grandchildren and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
