OBITUARY
Mrs. Florrie Wilkerson Williams, the daughter of the
late Mr. Glenn Wilkerson and Mrs. Lillie Hammock
Wilkerson, was born in Tattnall County, Georgia, June 24,
1905, and departed this life Wednesday, August 27,1981, at
her residence, 2217 Lee Street, Brunswick, Georgia, after a
short illness.
She had lived in Brunswick for 14 years and was a
member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Jacksonville,
Florida, Elder 0. W. Wilkerson, pastor.
Surviving are: Her husband, Mr. Charlie Williams,
Claxton, Georgia; two sons, Mr. Louie Wilkerson and Mr.
George Grant, both of Claxton; one daughter, Mrs. Betty
Doe, Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Thomas,
Daisy, Ga.; Mrs. Annie Bell Nixon, Brunswick, Ga., Mrs.
Cora Lee Lovett, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Mrs. Clara Lee Nash,
Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother. Elder 0. W. Wilkerson,
Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Lucile
Wilkerson and Mrs. Carolyn Grant, both of Claxton, Ga.; one
son-in-law, Mr. Edward Doe; five sisters-in-law, Mrs. Annie
Wilkerson and Mrs. Maude Ray, both of Jacksonville,
Florida; Mrs. Valeria Tootle, Mrs. Mary McDougal and Mrs.
Rosa Williams of Claxton; six brothers-in-law, Mr. Lige
Barnett, Hagan, Ga.; Mr. James Nixon, Brunswick, Ga., Mr.
George Lovett, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mr. Trellis Nash, Brooklyn,
N.Y., Mr. Eddie Williams and Mr. Jack Williams of Claxton,
Ga.; three aunts, ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren,
several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
I cannot say and I will not say that she Is dead.
She is just away! With a cheery smile and a wave of the
hand.
She has wandered into an unknown land.
Think of her still as the same.
I say she is not dead;
She is just away.
