OBITUARY
ci x \ Godbee Banks, the daughter of Mrs. Maude
Godbee and the late Mr. Tom Watson Godbee, was born
5G August 16, 1923 in Stilson, Georgia. She departed this life
Thursday, November 8,1979 at 9:00 A. M.
At an early age she joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist
Church. In later years she moved her membership to the St.
John Missionary Baptist Church. She attended and served
faithfully until a few months ago.
November 29,1944, she was joined in holy matrimony to
Mr. Julius Ceasar Banks. To this union three children were
born, one of which preceded her in death.
She was an active member of Sweet Evening Breeze No.
269, an Order of the Eastern Star. She was formally employed
at the Griffin Hospital and the Evans Memorial Hospital.
She leaves to mourn a devoted husband, Mr. Julius
Ceasar Banks; a loving mother, Mrs. Maude Godbee,
Claxton, Georgia; two devoted daughters, Mrs. Catherine
Murphy, Claxton, Georgia and Mrs. Connie Smith,
Brunswick, Georgia; one loving sister, Mrs. Annie Ruth
Waliace, Claxton, Georgia; one devoted sister-in-law, Mrs.
Evelyn McPherson, Metter, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Mr.
Ennis Scott, Lyons, Georgia; two sons-in-law, Mr. Samuel 0.
Murphy, Claxton, Georgia and Mr. Julius Smith, Brunswick,
Georgia; one uncle, Mr. Mack Godbee, New Rochelle, N. Y.;
three aunts, Mrs. Willie Graham, Giennville, Georgia, Mrs.
Carrie Bell Toomer, Savannah, Georgia, and Mrs. Thelma
Levant, Claxton, Georgia; two granchildren, Tomeka and
Tomaine Murphy, Claxton, Georgia; several neices,
nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
GOD IS LOVE
