OBITUARY
Mr. Norwood T. Terrell was born August 28,
1894. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Thaddeus Terrell. He departed this life Septem-
ber 21, 1974, at 10:00 P. M., at the Evans Me-
morial Hospital, Claxton, Ga.
At an early age he joined the St. John Mis-
sionary Baptist Church. He was ordained as a
Deacon under the leadership of Rev. N. L. Lyde
and served faithfully until death. He served in
many capacities. He was Past Worshipful Master
of the St. Joseph Lodge No. 76, Chairman of the
Deacon Board, a Sunday School Teacher, a Re-
tired Girls Scout Worker.
He leaves to mourn, a devoted wife, Mrs. El-
vira Terrell, Claxton, Ga.; one daughter, Mrs.
Marietta Bacon of Savannah, Ga.; two grand-
daughters, Mrs. Christie McFadden, Savannah,
Ga., Miss Michelle Calles, Claxton, Ga.; two
great-grandchildren; one nephew, Mr. Lloyd
Brewton of Claxton, Ga.; one sister-in-law; one
brother-in-law; one son-in-law, and a host of
other relatives and friends.
I cannot say and I will not say
That he is dead, he is just away;
With a cherry smile and a wave of the hand
He has wandered into an unknown land.
Think of him still as the same, I say
He is not dead, he is just away.
