OBITUARY
Mr. William Brewton was born in Evans
County, Ga., May 5,19Z.0 to the late Mr. and Mrs.
William Brewton, Sr. and departed this hfe Sat-
urday, March 20, 1971 in Talmadge Memorial
Hospital, Augusta, Ga.
He was united in marriage to Miss Irene
Mincey, who has proceeded him in death. To
this union five children were born.
He was later married to Miss Sophia Mc-
Knight, August 10, 1944. To this union 13 chil-
dren were born.
Early in life he joined the Mt. Calvary Bap-
tist Church, where he served as a faithful mem-
ber and Deacon until his death.
He leaves to mourn his passing, a loving
wife, Mrs. Sophia Brewton, Claxton, Ga. Nine
daughters, Mrs. Geneva Smith, Ft. Lauderdale,
Fla.; Mrs. Sarah Lomax, Miss Janie Lue Brewton
both of Mt. Vernon, N. Y.; Miss Minnie Lee Brew-
ton, New Rochelle, N.Y.; Miss Gearldine Brewton,
Miss Virginia, Bertha, Barbara Ann, Patricia
Ann Maire Brewton, all of Claxton, Ga.
Nine sons, Mr. William Brewton, Jr., New
Rochelle, N. Y.; Mr. Johnas Brewton, Ft. Lauder-
dale, Fla.; Paul Bill (Junior), James, Daniel,
Jimmy, Charles Ellis, Richard Bernard, Calvin
Brewton all of Claxton, Ga. Two brothers, Mr.
Sampson Brewton, Claxton, Ga.; Mr. Fisher
Brewton. One sister, Mrs. Utah Bacon,
Bellville, Ga.; one uncle, Mr. Doyle Brewton, Sa-
vannah, Ga.; one aunt, Mrs. Rosa Brewton, Way-
cross, Ga.; 18 grandchildren, 10 brothers-in-law,
10 sisters-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and
other relatives and friends.
With you a part of me hath passed away
For in the peopled forest of my mind
A tree made leafless by this wintery wind
Shall never don again its green array
