I have the honor herewith to enclose you powers of attorny [attorney] from John F. Gillaspie. George W. Churchwell, and Nicholas Peck of Tennessee and William Roan. Felix Axley, George W. Candler, and Nicholas Woodfin of NC [North Carolina] Lawyers who claim compensation for services rendered Cherokee Indians in preparing and attending to their reservation claims & c [et cetera] evidence of their debts on those Indians they wish the privilege of having filed for action thereon by the Department
Some of those gentlemen have prepared and forwarded to me arguments in support of reservation claims rejected by the Commissioners which they wish filed in the respective cases for which they were intended. Will you please inform me if you have any objections to the above requests being complied with
