ORDERS.
[ Note: This document contains both written and printed text. ] [printed text: THE Commander-in-Chief has been requested by the Secretary of War, to furnish troops for the ensuing campaign in Florida, against the Seminole Indians. Two hundred men, accustomed to the [unclear text: use and ] care of horses, are required, [unclear text: who will ] proceed by water to Florida, and be there mounted and the balance of the force will be infantry. The whole number that may be called for is not yet known, but as their services will be necessary, early in October, it is thought proper thus early to call for Volunteers The War Department desires that the Volunteer Companies that may offer their services, sh [document damaged: all be ] detached from Regimental organization; and be composed of not more than one hundred nor less than sixty-eight privates. ]
