Sir
yours of the 4th Inst [Instant] has been received, by the hand of Mr. Micklejohn, allso [also] the twenty five hundred Dollars for the use of the troops under command of Capt. Jernigan which I hope will bee Suficent [be Sufficient] if not continued long -- but the high prices of Suplys [Supplies], and discount on the money Require the move to Surfice [Suffice]
in my letter of
3rd May by Mr Micklejohn I ast [asked] whether I would bee Authorised [be Authorized] to pay Some purcheses [purchases] made by Capt Jernigan & Johnson previous to my Entring [Entering] on my duty. Should thay bee [they be] willing to Cortail thare [Curtail their] prices to my purchases
but from Some Cause, Either from Multiplicity of Bisness [Business] or other wise I have not been in formed all is gowing [going] on well -- we are neither harrast [harrassed] at present, by Indians, or Regulars, --
