Dr. [Dear] Sir.
I have written you on a subject that your Excellency can advise me for the best and most. Speedy remedy -- In the late Campaign after the Seminole Indians in the Territory of Florida. I was a volunteer under the Command of Capt. [Captain] David Graham who, was attached to the Battallion [Battalion] Commanded by Major David Ross -- of Georgia -- And my waggon [wagon] and Team was employed to hawl [haul] the baggage, which was done to the entire satisfaction, of the officers -- (Mr. Ambrose Powells Team was also employed, as from the situation of the roads and constant rains one Team was not sufficient -- Now I wish to know if there is or not a quarter master [added text: in ] Georgia, at any Station who will pay me for such services, or not, and if the quarter master will be the proper person to call on to settle such -- claims -- Our Capt. [Captain] has just returned from Augusta. from getting the pay for his men, but recd. [received] nothing for the Services of those waggons [wagons] -- and States that the pay master, there says he is not the proper person to call on to settle the wagon claims -- Will your Excellency be pleased therefore to advise me the proper course to pursue to get my pay -- My Team has also, been hawling [hauling] supplies from Hawkinsville to Columbus, for
