Dear Sir
From present appearances there is a prospect of serious deficiency with the Seminole & Creek Indians. none can tell where or when it will end from the commencement to the [unclear text: close ] of the late War It fell to my lot to stand up to my Countrys call in three of her troubles. I am yet ready and wait the call of [added text: my ] Country. Though I am a Junior officer. yet I hope for what I have already done your Excellency will favour [favor] my Claims as far as propriety will permit If a Genl [General] officer is called I desire the appointment. I will accept a Brigadiers Command.
