Greensboro
28th Janry [January] 1828
His Excellency John Forsyth
Dear Sir
Before I left Milledgeville Your Excellency told me if necessary You would furnish me with particular Instructions for Running off the Reserves. I do not know that any thing is necessary more than is Stated in the Act I should like to have Mr E.L. Thomass Note Book which is deposited in the Surveyor Generals office. As Mr Thomas Ran the adjoining lots to most of the Reserves, You will please direct the Surveyor Genrl [General] to forward it to me together with the other papers, I will be accountable for the return of the Note Book, the McIntosh Reserve being but 1 mile square and lying on both sides of the Chatahoochie. if I understand it Rightly it will be only necessary to ascertain the quantity of land on each side of the River without any farther Division- Should there there [there] be any further Instructions which Your Excellency may deem necessary, you will please forward them and they shall be Strictly attended to.
I remain with high Regard Your Excellencys most Obt Servt [Obedient Servant]
[Signed] John Bethune
