26th November 1819.
To the Senate, and House of Representatives,
I herewith enclose copies of two communications, one from Thomas E. Hardee and the other from A.B. Shehee in relation to intrusions by the Indians on the lands belonging to this State, bordering on the Florida line.
I shall unless otherwise directed by you, endeavour [endeavor], without loss of time, to have the Indians removed from off our Lands, and two or three companies of Federal Troops posted at given distances on that line. Should I fail in this, and a disposition continue to be manifested by the Indians, to molest or retard the progress of our Surveyors in that

quarter, I shall then cause posts to be garrisoned on this line from our Militia.
