Fort Hawkins
20th February 1814.-
Sir
In answer to the Question proposed in your letter of this Morning which I have just received I have to inform your Excellency that Genl [General] Jackson will attack the Okfuskee Settlements on his March down the [unclear text: Forts ], and with [added text: the ] [unclear text: force ] he will command I have no doubt he will be able to destroy them.- My last dispatches from that officer are dated the
12th of this Month: his reinforcements with the exception of the 39th Regiment had not arrived, nor had [added text: he ] a sufficient supply of provisions on hand to authorize his advance. I think it probable he will not move forward before the first week in March.
The South Carolina Dragoons who were ordered to Barnards on Flint River on the receipt of his report, saw no enemy and were informed it was only a beef stealing party who had caused the alarm, that Barnards Son had pursued and

I have the honor to be very respectfully your Excellencys most Obedient Servant
