Dear Sir
we are dayly [daily] receiving information that the Indians are on their way to attack Some parts of our frontier in a hostile way which does alarm the people very much Some are fixing their carriages to move away when I come to [unclear text: view ] our unprepard [unprepared] state defend our Selves in Case of an attack it [deleted text: [illegible text] ] realy douse [really does] alarm Me we have not a Sufficiency of arms and no Ammunition worth naming it is more in your power to know our Situation with regard to Safety then we doe [do] if you doe [do] apprehend danger I doo [do] daily think that as the Militia is [unclear text: Classed ] it would be well for them to Meet at [unclear text: Milegans bluff ] by turns and Stay a week Each Class and they Mighte [Might] Erect a fort [unclear text: an reconnighte [reconnoiter] ] the other Side of the river which would add greatly to the safety of the inhabitance [inhabitants] I doo [do] hope that your Excellency will take our Situation on in to consideration and furnish us with some arms and ammunition to defend our Selves with I think that one hundred arms Stand of Arms will be Sufficient Mr. Mobly informs me that he
