Sir,
InClosd [enclosed] you will Receive a Genl [General] Return of your Greene County Regiment Which in obediance [obedience] to your Orders is divided into 3 Classes [unclear text: No 1 & No 2 & No 3 ]
In Each Class 237 [unclear text: privts ] which will demand 4 Capts [Captains] 8 Lieuts [Lieutenants] 16 Sergts [Sergeants] 16 Corpls [Corporals] Each division Includeing [including] [illegible text] the 12 Compys [companies] Amt [amount] to 948 there then Appears to be In the difrent [different] Compys [companies] only 26 Over [illegible text] the No Clasd [Classed] Which Will appear by your Genl [General] Return You will also Receive a coppy [copy] of the deposition of several persons Relative to the Killing of an Indian -- the Elder Brother of the Indian Kild [Killed] Clald [Called] the mad Beaver With John Galfin & some other Indians Has Come in order to Receive pay for the property. Taken from Him Kild [Killed] demanded pay for One Horse Six deerskins [added text: and 2 guns ] & one Kettle Which the deponants [deponents] Ackonledge [Acknowledge] they Took But Before they got In Lost the Horse With all the plunder packed on the [unclear text: Horse ] We Have Made the Mad Beaver Full sattisfaction [satisfaction] for His property & He Says He does not Blame the men for Killing His Brother as they Kild [killed] Him for the Act they did
