Sir
Since the departure of Stephen [unclear text: Tell ] Esq. [Esquire] this Nation has had a generale [general] meeting to Consult on a talk sent to them from a generale [general] Meeting of the Nations to the North and West of this, Informing them they were in Convention at [unclear text: Pancor ] on the other side of Mississippi and that they had all maid [made] a [illegible text] in a large Belt as a show that they never intended to let one another loos [loose] again that all Nations Except the Choctaws and they had Agreed to it, and desired they would Immediately send, as the talk was as Soon as they broke up they were to lift the tomahawk and go against the White People, and as their nations Lay in the way Between them and the Creeks If they did not Join they should be obliged to make a Path through

to their Brother, the Creeks After a good deal Being sayd, [said] [deleted text: they ] [added text: this nation ] Came to a determination to make a fort in Bigg town and to keep Runners Cut; and If they Come to Move into it and Indians to defend them Selves -- So Answered them they had taken the Americans by the hand and would all dye [die] before they would draw it loos [loose], they desired I would write to your honour [honor] and inform you this nation had no Amonition [Ammunition] Nither [Neither] did they know where to get any, as the Merchants At Mobeall had got so dear, that the traders had got no goods this Spring, and Your honour [honor] did not help them they must dye [die] in their towns like old women, which they would do before they would Join them I mentioned by [unclear text: St. ] Tell Esq a Piece of land [deleted text: they ] on the Mississippi called the Chickasaw Bluffs they looked on as a Convenient Place for them to be furnished with goods from, and are willing to give it up for that Purpos [Purpose], But two Letters has come to them one from [unclear text: Cintuckey ]

One from Cumberland Making them offers to Purchase it, which has maid [made] a good deal of disturbance in the nations they say they fear we only Protend [Pretend] to be their friends to get them land from Them, your honour [honor] will be kind enough to mention something Respecting it to me in your Next / [added text (appears to be in different ink): As [unclear text: S ] Tell Esq has left this About Ten days apart makes it needless for me to [unclear text: decide ] to [illegible text] of the Nations As I had the honour [honor] to with you by [illegible text] Will Give you Every Intelligence Necessary ]
