Our Father
It give us a great sadisfaction [satisfaction] that you take us into your hands as your red children, and determine to protect us, if any part of our hair should injured by Hostile Indian. And yesterday evening we was inform by Chilly McIntosh that you want to see Genl [General] William McIntosh before he return, to state to him a farther subject upon the [illegible text] which we now stand at this present time forfear [for fear] they might do injurly [injury] to us in [unclear text: secredly ] or by bad [unclear text: advisers ], and if we think it necessary that you would sent runers [runners] on to let the party know that you are ready to protect us if they should attempt. We have been considering upon the subject and we determine that should be the best plan and more safety for our head man and us than without the runers [runners], if you sent the runers [runners] on to the party, we want a few lines from you to let our friendly people know. that you [unclear text: or ] the commanding chiefs of the state of Georgia would protect us in case of Hostile party should to [do] injury to us or attempt to do injury to friendly party our Father. At the treaty of Broken arrow the chiefs got Jealous of said McIntosh and threaden [threaten] to kill said McIntosh the charge against said McIntosh, was that he wanted to sell land to the commissioners, of the united states, but no [unclear text: evidence given ]

1824 a few chiefs met at the place called Pole cat spring pass a law if any person should sell land or offers. Guns and Rope shall be their Ends this law was intend to prevind [prevent] Genl [General] McIntosh from selling the land, that it is not agreeable to the laws of the [unclear text: National ] if it was intend to be the National law, It ought to be read before the National chiefs, and let them determine on it, not to collect a few chiefs to [added text: make ] law, [deleted text: even in the united ] could one individual state pass law [added text: to ] esctend [extend] all over to United states [added text: or ] our Country to make law for state to bring force. The Guns and Rope are taken from the [illegible text] of Cheroke therefore we don't considered a law of the Nation to be inforced [enforced], It is merely privid [private] law among themself but who signs their names to the [illegible text] of cherokee determine to execute the law, that was the report from some of our friend. If they determine, we are ready to defend ourself, and with your assistance they will find a great different in number, Our [illegible text] characteristic [unclear text: dipose us ] to tread [treat] all man kind as friends Brothers and relatives, our determine ever [added text: to ] impose on no man. but tread [treat] them as friends
