Indian Mineral Spring

His Excellency John Clark
Sir
The Commissioners appointed on the part of the United States for holding a treaty at this place, with the Creek Indians, and those appointed on the part of the State of Georgia for the purpose of obtaining satisfaction from the said nation for claims in behalf of the citizens of the Said State. Having agreed with the chiefs of the said nation in the general outlines of a treaty which will accomplish in a satisfactory manner the contemplated objects, we find it necessary in order to a consummation of these desirable objects to call upon your Excellency for a portion of the funds intended to be applied to this purpose by a resolution of the last Legislature.
Our colleague General John McIntosh will have the honor of handing you this, and will present a draft for the sum which we think necessary To him we refer your Excellency for further information
