Sir,
Immediately on the Receipt of your letter the
28th Feby. [February] I applied to Mr. Wm [William] Maxwell & Capt. McKay respecting the Negroes of Mr Maxwell. was informed by them they were not to be hired -- I have made enquiry since I find none to be hired upon any terms -- I am informed the Indian treaty will take place the
first day of May next within a few miles of Augusta, I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you there --
I hope Mrs. Greene has recovd. [recovered] her health --
My Mother & family Join me in Compts [Compliments] to You & Mrs. Greene --
