Sir
A desire to Serve an old and intimate friend of mine induces me to take the liberty of addressing you and introducing him to your acquaintance. the Gentleman is Colo. George Rootes from Berkely in Virginia. he has lately become a Citizen of Georgia and will prove a valuable one. & [deleted text: He ] has [deleted text: lately ] obtained from this State in behalf of himself and Some others a grant of 200.000 acres of Land to be compleated [completed] so soon as the treaty with the Indians is over- a few hours conversation will inform you of his knowledge in Literature and mankind-
