- Sunny Side, late 1890s. Home of John McIntosh Kell (1823-1900). Kell served in the U.S. Navy; accompanied Commodore Perry to Japan; served under Admiral Raphael Semmes of the Confederacy during the Civil War; was appointed by Gov. John Brown Gordon as Adjutant-General of Georgia in 1887. He and his wife may be the ones seen at left in this photograph. The home was torn down in 1971.
