- near Coleman, late 1890s. Members of the Ira Pierce Rhodes family pose for a photograph in front of their home. The home was built in 1828 by R.A. Hall, who was the grandfather of Ira. Left to right: Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Ragan Rhodes, Ruby, Carl, Marcus Hall, Ira Pierce, Idus Lee, and Olan Rhodes. Idus Lee Rhodes was later a large contributor to Andrew College. Marcus Hall Rhodes was an inventor with over 100 patents to his credit. Of particular importance was a delayed action time switch.
