- Gainesville, April 6, 1936. Destruction and debris caused when a tornado struck the city. Railroad cars can be seen in the foreground. The Royal Theatre located on South Main Street is seen in the right background. The tornado caused the deaths of over 100 people, hundreds of injuries, and property damage that totaled in the millions.
