- Description:
- Crane Eater, 1910-1920. Spring house on the farm of Joseph Emerson Brown. Brown, who had served as Governor of Georgia 1857-1865, used the farm as his summer home in the 1870s. It was located on the Coosawattee River east of Calhoun. Crane Eater was the early name of the town of Red Bud. The farm was later owned by Columbus L. "Lum" Moss. The home was demolished in 1974.
