- Calhoun, 1933. Home of James Monroe Harlan (1827-1905) was built in 1882. It was known as "Bird's Nest." Mr. Harlan was a judge of the Inferior Court of Gordon County, 1864-1868. He owned a mercantile business, too. In 1934 the home was sold to William F. Bond, Sr. Both Mr. and Mrs. Bond died when a fire destroyed their home in 1974.
