- near Climax, ca. 1935. H.P. Townsend and his son, Eugene, inspect a healthy crop of tobacco on the Curry Hill Plantation, owned by Mr. Townsend. Curry Hill Plantation was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 because it typified a historical South Georgia farm. It is located six miles east of Bainbridge and two miles west of Climax.
