- Description:
- Barrow County, ca. 1970s. Carter Hill Christian Church. The building was built from concrete blocks, which were hauled to the site from Bethlehem where they were made. The church was dedicated in June of 1911. This church grew out of the Omer Christian Church established in 1882 and the Carter Hill School established in the 1870s. The school building was used for church activities until it grew too small to accommodate the crowds. It was then that plans were instituted to build a church.
