- This collection consists of three items. The first is a letter written by Andrew Jackson McKibbins to his wife Martha dated February 1862. The letter discusses some of the fighting around Savannah, Georgia. He also asks about family members and other affairs at home. The second letter is dated August 12, 1863 and authorizes A. J. McKibbins to take sick leave and return home. The last item is a one thousand dollar bill issued by the Confederate States of America in Montgomery, Alabama, 1861.
Andrew Jackson McKibbins was a private in Company G, of the 63rd Georgia Infantry Regiment. He was from Griffin, Georgia and was married to Martha McKibbins.
