Co. K of the 26th Regiment was successively designated New Co. H, 13th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry and Co. H, which became Co. K, May 8 or 10, 1862, 26th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry. The company originated in Clinch and Ware Counties, Georgia and was called the Forest Rangers and served in the Army of Northern Virginia.
