- This collection consists of a bill of sale for the Emeline plantation and slaves both sold to Maxwell R. Berry; a two dollar bill issued by the Planter's Bank of the State of Georgia; a military pass into Atlanta, Georgia; and John A. Berry's oath of allegiance to the United States.

John A. Berry served in the 30th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Steven's Brigade, Walker's Division, Army of Tennessee. He joined the regiment as a private and was promoted to sergeant in May 1862. He also served as quartermaster. Additional biographical information about John A. Berry has not been determined.
