Located on Saint James Square, the stuccoed brick church on a brick foundation, features a small recessed porch with two Corinthian columns under the pediment. The church was built in 1848 by John B. Hogg, architect, who was a pupil of Mr. Thomas W. Walker, a celebrated architect of Girard College in Philadephia who designed and built the capitol dome in Washington, D.C.
