Two-story stuccoed brick temple type house, featuring a two-story portico with pediment supported by four round and unfluted Doric columns. Floor length windows open onto the porch. Most of the architectural details were copied or adapted from Asher Benjamin. Built between 1830 and 1840 by John Dunwoody the house was also owned by George H. Camp until 1868, when he sold it to A. J. Hansell in 1868. The house was also owned by Mrs. Barrington King, who bought the house in 1898, and by Neel Reid, Architect of Atlanta, who bought the house in 1916. The latest owner listed by HABS is Mrs. John W. Redd, Sr. An earlier house on the site, Dunwoody Hall, burned the night of its housewarming. Mimosa Hall is the house that replaced it, but it was first named Phoenix Hall. Neel Reid substituted an antique door from a New York mansion for the original entrance door before 1936.
