It's my pleasure to welcome you to Augusta for the 12th annual Georgia Summit Conference of the University System of Georgia (USG) for academic and administrative application users! We're glad that you've come together with us to exchange ideas. This
students, faculty, and others throughout the System: SunGard Higher Education Student Information and Financial Aid Systems, USG Data Warehouse, Georgia ONmyLINE, Learning Management System, ADP, and Oracle/PeopleSoft Financials System.
Georgia Summit provides us with numerous exciting opportunities to learn what our colleagues on other campuses are doing, discuss common issues and experiences, and share creative solutions. In addition to the preconference workshops already held, presentations, demonstrations, discussions, exhibits, birdsof-a-feather sessions, and social networking opportunities will encourage interaction and promote professional growth.
Our keynote speaker is Jean Twenge, Ph.D., professor of psychology at San Diego State University. Twenge's keynote address is "Generation Me: Working with Today's Young People." She will discuss generational changes that impact campus management and workplace dynamics and how the generations can work together to achieve success.
The Georgia Summit Conference relies on your generosity and desire to engage with your colleagues and take advantage of this professional development opportunity. I appreciate you sharing your time and expertise as presenters, moderators and participants.
I'd like to thank the strategic partners of Georgia Summit for their generous contributions. These contributions from our sponsors are essential to the ongoing success of Georgia Summit, and we appreciate the positive outcomes that are the result of their ongoing support.
Thank you all for making Georgia Summit 2011 a success!
Sincerely,
Marie Steed Executive Director, IT Services Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia

The Intra-Georgia Registration System (INGRESS) is a custom tool designed to facilitate cross-institution registration for collaborative programs and courses and is integrated with Banner and the collaborative Learning Management System. This workshop is designed for USG institutions considering the use of INGRESS. Topics to be covered include selecting an administrative model, engaging the institution community in the planning process, Banner and technical requirements, and the INGRESS Onboarding process. A panel of representatives from institutions using INGRESS will share experiences and o er advice to institutions contemplating the use of INGRESS.
Behavior Based Interviewing to Hire the Best Candidate Kathy Kral/Blake Adams, University of West Georgia Cumming All In order to improve the hiring and provisional employee evaluation process at UWG, it was decided to employ the techniques in Behavioral Interview Guide A Practical, Structured Approach For Conducting E ective Selection Interviews by Tom S. Turner. The premise of behavioral-based interviewing is that past behavior is the best predicator of future behavior. By asking questions that elicit responses based on behavior from past experiences, a better candidate is selected. At the end of this session, attendees will be able to assess their current interviewing process and determine if a change in their process would be bene cial.
The DegreeWorks Roadmap: What's Up Ahead? Tom Wagner/Mark Nichols, SunGard Higher Education Estes B GeorgiaBEST This session will provide an overview of DegreeWorks, as well as the product's roadmap.
