WELCOME TO THE FOURTH ANNUAL GEORGIA BANNER USERS CONFERENCE,
GEORGIA SUMMIT 2001!!!!
Georgia Summit 200 I has been expanded to include not only USG colleges and universities but other Banner users within Georgia including the Department of Technical and Adult Education (DTAE) and private colleges and universities. We welcome all Banner users to Georgia Summit 200 I!
\Ve are so pleased that the Banner users have chosen to come together, once again, to share and learn from each other! This conference is a unique professional development opportunity for all of us as a team of staff across the state. Each year, we have personally witnessed the benefits of these opportunities to network with colleagues, to learn from each other's experiences, and to come together to develop common solutions to common problems. We are truly lucky to have the wealth of internal talent within Georgia and we see that we are getting smarter with every passing day about sharing that talent and knowledge across the state.
Thank you for your willingness to participate in this important event. Your contributions as session leaders, as moderators and facilitators, and as participants in giving each other and the System office feedback and advice are essential to the collective success in using the Banner software system to provide the best service to students, faculty and staff.
Sincerely and with warmest regards,
~~
Barry A. Fullerton, Associate Vice Chancellor, Student Services University System Banner Project Director
Beth P. Brigdon, Assistant Vice Chancellor, Enterprise Systems and Services

(4) Stop Working So Hard: Sharing Local Modifications
DEBBIE S. WILLIAMSON, GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY; SONNY MONFORT, GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY; AND JOHN GRAHAM, BOARD OF REGENTS

Tired of manual labor? Looking for some help? Do you have a process or local modification to BANNER that you would be willing to discuss and share with others? We know there are many modifications out there, so lets share what we know! Attendees will include both those who have modifications to share and those who are looking for assistance. Some modifications to be discussed include automatic registration of Regents Test remediation and test date/time assignments, transcripts that can be ordered for processing at the end of the term, automatic registration of new freshmen or other groups, display of degree candidate status, aging of "incomplete" grades, individualized admissions acceptance letters, action sheets, application fee letters, folder labels, acknowledgement letters, and preliminary Evaluation sheets (grad students) using Crystal Reports. Discussion will also include the need for a coordinated effort so that we can collaborate as institutions and the System office to accomplish more and improve our Banner implementation and service to our students.

RooM: OGLETHORPE FGH / 2:30-3:20 PM

SCT REPRESENTATIVE Your institution manages a flood of information every day - information that is critical to students, alumni, faculty, and other members of the campus community. How can you be sure it's efficiently managed and available to the right people at the right time? With SCT Banner
Xtender Solutions, that's how. SCT and OTC Software have formed a partnership to provide
an imaging and document management solution that tightly integrates SCT Banner with OTC Software's award-winning XtenderSolutions. It is non-intrusive and extremely flexible. Information such as applicant statistics, student academic history, grades, degree audit, faculty schedules, room matrices, financial data, course listings, graduates, etc. is displayed easily and securely using a web browser. Open database connectivity (ODBC) tools and SQL scripts are used in this live demonstration of a College Intranet having different security levels. Information is retrieved from the Banner Oracle database residing on a Unix server and dynamically displayed using a web server running on a Windows NT machine.
