known for having t he largest sand swimming beach of any Georgia state pa rk. Ir is a r ecr ea t io nal haven for w a ter lovers looking for bo ating a nd fishing o pportunitie s as well . Visitors can e njo y camping, picnicking, minia ture golf, volleyball and horseshoes. A small lodge located near the beach features six units, each with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living area and bedroom. The park ls named afte r a local businessman who operated the property as a private park from 1954 until 1971.
