aking reservations has never been easier! With the new Reservation Resource,
you can make one toll-free call to reserve

shaded campsites, fully equipped cottages, modern
---=-- lodge rooms and picnic shelters at any of Georgia's
RES 0 URCE scenic state parks. Your call will be taken by specially
trained reservation agents who can help you find the best park for your
Great Georgia Getaway.
Calll-800-864-PARK (770-389-PARK in metro Atlanta) to reserve:
Campsites Cottages Lodge Rooms Picnic Shelters
Open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Park information and brochures should still be requested from the State Park Information Office, 404-656-3530.
When can I make a reservation? Reservations must be made at least two days prior to arrival but no more than II months in advance. For example, if you want to arrive on August 12, 1996, you may call no earlier than September 12, 1995, and no later than August I0, 1996.
Can I stay at the park ifI don't have a reservation? Walk-ins are welcome to use unreserved facilities for one or two nights. As soon as you occupy an unreserved facility, call Reservation Resource if you want to extend your stay past two nights.
Every summer I stay in cottage #7 at my favorite state park. Can I still specify which cottage I want? Yes, callers can reserve a specific cottage or shelter. Campers may request a type of site that meets their needs, such as an RV pull-thru. Lodge guests may reserve a type of room that meets their needs, such as an accessible or non-smoking room.
Since my reservation doesn't specify which campsite I will have, can I pick it out once I arrive? After you check in, we will make every effort to give you your preferred site if it is available.
I want to stay in a mountain cottage with three bedrooms, a fireplace and deck. Can you help me decide where to go? Yes! This is one of the great benefits of Reservation Resource. Our reservation associates can help you find a park or facility that meets your needs, and if your first choice isn't available, they can suggest a nearby park or alternate dates.
My family is so large that one campsite won't accommodate all of us. Can I reserve two sites? Yes, you may reserve as many facilities as you need.
Will/ be charged more for a reservation than a walk-in? No, there is no charge to make a reservation.
Cjeorgia ParkPass
How Does It Work?
The ParkPass is a $2 daily or $25 annual parking pass valid at all state parks. 100% of these revenues go toward park and historic site repairs, maintenance and renovations! Past projects include campground and cottage renovations, group shelter and trail construction, road improvements and dock replacement. Look for signs identifying ParkPass projects when visiting parks and historic sites.
All visitors are required to purchase and display ParkPasses in their vehicles, and the passes are valid for all sites visited that day. ParkPass fees are collected four ways:
I) Daily passes are dispensed from collection boxes at parking areas at the sites (there are some 200 boxes in the system).
2) Annual passes are sold at all parks and historic sites, at the Atlanta office, or through a mail order form on the back cover of this brochure (ask about our senior discounts). Annual passes are hung from the rearview mirror and are transferable between vehicles registered to the same household.
3) Overnight guests at cottages, campsites, and lodges pay a one-day rate per vehicle at registration that is valid for the duration of their stay.
Is Anyone Exempt? Every Wednesday is a free day. Diners in lodge restaurants do not need to display a ParkPass on their vehicle. Attendees at day-long lodge meetings do not need a ParkPass. Vehicles parked at golf courses do not need a ParkPass.
When Does It Expire? Annual ParkPasses are valid April I through March 31 of the following year.
What Discounts Exist? At this time, only senior citizens (62 and over) and disabled veterans are eligible for an Annual ParkPass discount. Senior citizens must present a copy of their drivers license; disabled veterans must present a copy of VSO Form 22 or Certificate of Eligibility to receive the discount.
Disabled Veterans: Contact the Georgia Department of Veterans Services (404/656-2300) to receive a VSO Form 22 (Certificate of Eligibility).
Special Price Increase- Panola Mountain State Park only! ParkPass fee will be increased to $5 for vans of nine passengers or more. Public school buses will still be exempt.
