You'll have a challenge at any of five memorable courses quietly tucked away in Georgia's natural splendor. Whether you take advantage of our annual pass good for unlimited play at all five courses, or you're just passing through for the day, here the game is played at a casual pace that rarely requires a tee time. Daily greens fees and cart rentals are always affordable and for a longer stay, your overnight accommodations may range from the lodge and restaurant at Little Ocmulgee to cottages and campsites available at the other state park courses.

Nestled against the shore of Lclke Blackshear the Georgia Veterans Golf Course presents one of the best values in the state. Denis Griffiths, architect, has worked his magic once more to convert a fiat bottomland setting to a highly pleasing and challenging golf course. Mounds, water and plenty of sand define the holes and enhance the challenge. TheTif Dwaif Bermuda greens are large and sloping, but not tiered. They putt as smooth as glass. The wide Tif 419 Fairways wind through mounds and stands of lob lolly pines. Though the course has been open since August, 1990, it has already hosted a ladies '.s Future '.s Tour event. Largely undiscovered, Georgia Veterans rates as a must play.

Don't think fiat when you think of Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park's Golf Course, Brazell Creek. Ancient sand dunes provide plenty of slope and relief Though only nine holes, there is enough challenge for 18. Hole # 7 is by far the most scenic and challenging with its two water carries and doglegged fairway. The course is very well maintained with Tif 419 Bermuda fairways and Tif 328 Bermuda greens that putt smooth and true. You'll find a very friendly and professional staff and a yet-to-be discovered great golf course at Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park.

Over 24 years old, this premier golf course has already had three ofAmerica'.s top course architects work their magic on its graceful hills. James B. McCloud designed the original, and Dick Wilson and Denis Griffiths have added the final touches. Elevated tees overlook narrow tree-lined Tif 419 Bermuda fairways which lead to large Tif 328 Bermuda greens. Hard Labor Creek cuts through the course and creates water hazards on five holes. Hole #5 is one of the most beautiful par threes in the state, with its ancient waterwheel framing the hole on the left next to a gorgeous wateifall. Suffice it to say that this course is superb and likely one of Georgia'.s best golfing values.
