Situated at the northern end of 45,000acre Lake Wa lter F. George, also known as Lake Eufaula, this park offers the perfect setting for those who love water sports. It is adjacent to a natural deepwater mari na with an accessib le deepwater fis hing pier, boat slips and boat ramp . Birders are sure to see herons and egrets, and possibly ba ld eagles. The par k's Ki rbo Interpretive Center teaches visitors about Native Americans , nature and loca l history, and it displays snakes, turtles, fish and artifacts from the prehistoric PaleoInd ian peri od through the early 20 th century. Ten mi les southeast is Providence Canyon State Park, known as Georgia's Little Grand Canyon, with hiking trai ls and a visitor center.
