FOREWORD
This booklet contains a summary of the
eneral statutes of statewide application which
ere enacted at the 1984 regular session of the
eneral Assembly of Georgia. No resolutions,
population" Acts, or Acts with
special
pplication have been included.
It would be impractical to minutely
nalyze each statute because to do so would defeat
he main purpose which it is hoped that this
ooklet accomplishes. It is intended that it be
sed as a convenient reference for persons
esiring to know which laws were enacted or
esiring to ascertain the main features of each
ct without the necessity of reading it in its
ntirety. It should be pointed out that for
pecific, detailed information on any particular
aw, the Act itself should be examined.
A
otation of the effective date is listed after
ach Act.
would like to give special credit to ewell Brumby, Deputy Legislative Counsel, for the reparation of this booklet. The many long hours nvolved in this project are evidence of his utstanding work and his meticulous attention to etail.
This summary is not to be deemed in any anner as an opinion from the Office of egislative Counsel, and the question of :onstitutionality has not been considered in any fespect. It is hoped that this booklet will ,enefit all who have occasion to use it and lomment and suggestions for improvement are ~lcomed.
Frank H. Edwards Legislative Counsel
