Dear Pre-K Parents:
It will be summer soon, and Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning wants your child to continue learning throughout the summer. Because this is an important time for your child, we are distributing Summer TransitionActivity Kits to help children make the transition from Pre-K to Kindergarten.
The activities in the Summer TransitionActivity Kit have been selected to reinforce the school readiness skills acquired during the Pre-K year. For your child, the activities will be something fun to do on a summer day and reinforce literacy, math, and science skills while expanding creativity. You will be your child's teacher as you interact with himlher during the activities.
The enclosed book titled I Love School! was chosen so you can read and talk to your child about what to expect in Kindergarten. The Summer TransitionActivity Kit also includes a calendar with ideas to keep your child excited about learning. The calendar identifies at least one activity per day that you and your child can do during the summer months.
We hope you and your child enjoy the summer. School will begin soon, and our hope is that your child is ready for and excited about starting Kindergarten.
Sincerely,
y~V"a+
