sector has seen employment rise for eight consecutive

months now. In March, the educational services indus-
try saw employment grow by 100 while health care and

the month. Leisure and hospitality jobs increased by
2,200 in March after increasing by 5,700 in February.
The March job gains are a result of arts, entertainment,
and recreation employment growing by 1,200 and

After shedding 4,300 jobs in February, the government
sector added 2,100 jobs in March. Local government jobs were up 1,800 over the month, state government

employment was flat in March, and the federal govern-
ment added 300 jobs from February to March.
Over the year, employment in Georgia is down 151,000, or -3.3 percent. Leisure and hospitality (-58,100 jobs), government (-24,200 jobs), education and health services (-19,800 jobs), and other services (-15,700 jobs) have lost the most jobs from March 2020 to March 2021.
Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) declined to 4.5 percent in March from 4.8 percent in February 2021. Over the year, the unemployment rate is up from 3.6 percent in March 2020.
