Over the year, employment in Georgia is up 53,100, or 1.2 percent. Education and Health Services (+23,600 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (+14,800 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+9,200 jobs); and Construction and Financial Activities (+3,400 jobs each) have added the most jobs over the year.
Georgia's unemployment rate (seasonally adjusted) held steady at 3.1 percent from December 2019 to January 2020. Over the year, the unemployment rate is down from 3.8 percent in January 2019.
