A PROCLAMATION
HEALTHCARETECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS WEEK
As medical technology advances, hospitals, treatment centers, and other healthcare facilities must continue to keep pace by providing quality, well-trained personnel capable of understanding the complexity of medical equipment operation and applications; and
Modern healthcare relies heavily upon sophisticated medical equipment as well as knowledgeable people for the best treatment available. Diagnostic instruments such as pacemakers, patient monitors, defibrillators, EKG units, diagnostic laboratories, Xrays, MRI, nuclear medicine, and other imaging systems help establish quality care. Life support medical devices such as anesthesia systems, ventilators, heart-lung, and dialysis machines provide life sustaining functions to patients; and
Proper patient diagnosis and care depends upon a team of professionals dedicated to providing quality comprehensive healthcare. Additionally, healthcare costs may be controlled by effectively selecting and repairing medical equipment by qualified healthcare technology management professionals who have the level of education, experience, competence, and devotion needed to work with physicians, clinicians, administrators, and other personnel regarding the ever-advancing technology of modern healthcare equipment; and
These professionals research, recommend, install, inspect, repair, calibrate, and modify medical devices, critical life support systems, computerized imaging, and other complicated medical systems as well as advise and train others concerning physiological principles and practical, as well as safe, clinical application of complex medical devices; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim May 18-24, 2014, as HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS WEEK in Georgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 17th day of April in the year of our Lord two thousand fourteen.
