America has an extensive history of African American cu lture; and
The number of African American elders is projected to increase significantly; and
African American elderly continue to hold an esteemed role in African America n communities and families throughout America; and
African American elderly continue to transfer the richness and majesty of African Amer ican culture and traditions; and
Guidance, education and support for aging African Americans is an increased necessity; now
T HEREFORE: I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the Stat e of Georgia, do hereby proc laim August 1, 2011 as REVERENCE DAY in Georgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 19th day of April in the year of our Lord two thousand eleve n.
