America has an extensive history of African American cu lture; and 
The number of African American elders is projected to increase significantly; and 
African American elderly continue to hold an esteemed role in African America n communities and families throughout America; and 
African American elderly continue to transfer the richness and majesty of African Amer ican culture and traditions; and 
Guidance, education and support for aging African Americans is an increased necessity; now 
 
T HEREFORE: I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the Stat e of Georgia, do hereby proc laim August 1, 2011 as REVERENCE DAY in Georgia.
