COVID-19 Update from Explore Georgia

The Georgia Tourism Summit is going virtual, which means that even more people can attend and at a great price: free! The virtual Summit will be broadcast live from our host location, Lanier Islands, with Q&A opportunities for attendees. We hope you can join us on September 2, 2020, to hear from our incredible lineup of national industry speakers and a special message from Governor Kemp all from the comfort of your own computer.
The safety and well-being of our attendees, speakers, and staff has always been our primary concern while organizing this year's event. Although we hoped to meet in person, we understand that a large gathering is not viable at this time.
If you were already registered, you have been fully refunded for the in-person event. But, you will need to re-register for the virtual event here.
If you were not registered for the in-person event and would like to attend the virtual Summit, please register below. There is no cost for the virtual Summit, and the event is open to all state tourism professionals.

milestone: more than 1,000 Georgia businesses, local authorities and officials have committed to the Promise. Governor Kemp launched the campaign last month to encourage everyone to keep Georgia healthy and open for business by following the latest guidelines, including wearing masks, maintaining social distance, and regularly washing and sanitizing hands and surfaces.
Business and industry-leading partners recently penned an op-ed published in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgians and businesses: Commit to the Safety Promise, outlining the resiliency of the Georgia business community, and the measures implemented to keep the workplace safe for employees and patrons.
Participants in the Georgia Safety Promise voluntarily agree to follow the latest guidelines from the Governor's Office, receive access to a digital toolkit of resources, and are displayed on a comprehensive list of participants on the Georgia Safety Promise website.
Thank you to everyone who has helped promote participation in this vital public health campaign. If you haven't yet, please consider committing to the Promise and encouraging your community partners to do the same.

COVID-19 Study Participation
The University of Georgia (UGA) Hospitality and Food Industry Management, Agricultural and Applied Economics, and Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management programs are collaborating to conduct a national survey that will explore the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on future travel behaviors, as well as current and future demand for hospitality services. Explore Georgia and other DMOs across the state are participating in this survey.
The first wave has concluded, but you can still participate! If you would like to join the second wave, please contact the UGA Hospitality and Food Industry Management Program at hospitality@uga.edu or at 706-542-0769 by close of business on Monday, August 31, 2020. Participation in this study is free of charge.
