Norcross Krispy Kreme Temporarily Closed by State Ag Department
A complaint by a consumer has led to the temporary closing of a Krispy Kreme wholesale bakery at 4320 International Boulevard in Norcross by the Georgia Department of Agriculture, Commissioner of Agriculture Tommy Irvin announced today.

A consumer who called the department about finding a bug in a doughnut she bought at a convenience store led to an investigation of the bakery where the doughnut was produced. Agriculture inspectors found a problem with flying insects in the bakery. The company agreed to close and work with their pest control operator to correct the situation. "Our inspectors will be back tomorrow to assess the situation and possibly give the clearance for the bakery to re-open," said Commissioner Irvin.
The bakery does not sell directly to the public but to grocery stores and convenience stores. "Prior to this incident, the bakery had a good record," said Commissioner Irvin.
