Thanksgiving Recipes

HONEY APPLE PIE
One 9-inch unbaked pie shell 1 cup sugar 3 tablespoons flour
Vi cup honey !/4 cup heavy cream 5 tart apples peeled, cored, and cut in thin slices 1/2 teaspoon ground cinamon ]/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon butter or margarine Sprinkle bottom of pastry with 1 tablespoon each
of sugar and flour. Combine the remaining sugar and flour; stir in honey and cream. Pour mixture over apples. Mix gently until slices are well coated. Spoon apples into pie shell. Sprinkle with cinamon and nut meg and dot with butter. Bake at 425 degrees F. for 45 minutes.
TURKEY LUNCHEON DISH
1 cup milk 1 can cream of mushroom soup 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 chopped pimientos 1 cup turkey dressing 2 cups cooked, chopped turkey
Heat milk, reserving 2 tablespoons; add soup. Moisten cornstarch with 2 tablespoons milk and add to first mixture, stirring until slightly thickened. Add pimientos, turkey dressing, and chopped turkey. Heat thoroughly and serve over squares of hot cornbread.
SUGARED NUTS
3 c. walnut halves P/2 c. pecan halves
2 c. sugar 1 c. water
V4 tsp. cinamon Mix ingredients in heavy skillet. Cook until water
disappears and nuts have a sugary appearance. Re move from heat and pour nuts onto a baking sheet. Separate quickly with 2 forks.

SAUSAGE - APPLE STUFFING
3/4 Ib. country sausage 3 to 4 cups poultry stock 1 onion, chopped
3/4 c. chopped celery 3 qts. cornbread 6 slices toasted, cubed white bread 1 large tart hard apple, grated
Dash of pepper and salt Saute sausage slightly; do not drain. Add remaining ingredients and combine with stock to desired con sistency. Stuff bird or bake dressing in dish adding liquid if needed.
PUMPKIN PIE
1 !/2 cups mashed cooked pumpkin 3/4 cup sugar Vz teaspoon salt Vz teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon cinnamon !/4 teaspoon nutmeg 7/4 teaspoon cloves 3 slightly beaten eggs
114 cups milk 1 6-ounce can (2-3 cup) evaporated milk 1 recipe Plain Pastry 5 tablespoons chopped pecans
Thoroughly combine pumpkin, sugar, salt, and spices. Add eggs, milk and evaporated -milk; blend. Pour into 9-inch pastry-lined piepan (have edges crimped high). Sprinkle pie with 5 tablespoons chopped pecans. Bake in hot oven (400) 50 min utes, or until knift inserted halfway between center and edge, comes out clean.
SPICED HOT CRANBERRY JUICE
(1) Just before serving in saucepan, combine 1 quart cranberry juice cocktail, 1 quart apple cider, 1 12ounce can pear nectar, 2 cinnamon sticks and Vz tea spoon ground nutmeg. (2) Heat to boiling, remove cinamon sticks, and serve at once. Makes 8 to 10 servinqs.
