According to the reporting service, the
1963 hog inventory was unchanged from
a year ago at 1,519,000 head, placing
Georgia 10th in the nation in hog inven-
tory numbers. However, the total value
of hogs showed four percent increase
amounting to $36,456,000 compared with
$34,937,000 the previous year. The aver-

The number of chickens (this report
once again up sharply from the previous
year, ranking Georgia fourth among the
states. Total value amounted to $20,042,-
tory value. Turkeys on farms declined
substantially to 43,000 head compared to
61,000 head last year.
